Coco Palms Hotel

You know, packing is great. We are finding things under couches and in boxes that we haven't seen in three years. "Hey, there's my socket wrench!" or, "Christ, what is that thing? I think its alive!" Yikes! Oh yeah, in two other cases...we found unopened Christmas presents and unpaid bills...whoops!

First, thank you to everybody who came out for Brooke's birthday at the Bauren-Stube. It was a great time and it reminded us how much we'll miss all of you...yes, even André.

Second, we got some more news about our living arrangements for the first month in Costa Rica. I guess the current project manager has been staying at a hotel in the adjacent town of Playa del Coco and a deal has been worked out with the hotel for $500 bucks a month. We are getting a monthly living expense stipend of $500 from Corona del Mar, so that would work out well, at least in interim. The place is called the Coco Palms Hotel: all rooms have free long distance calls to the States, wireless internet, some have kitchenettes, and there is a restaurant and a nice pool. We may want to live in a apartment, house, or condo eventually, but this should be a good place to get started. Here is the link.

Anyway, for those of you who are considering coming down to see us, you now have choices on where you can stay. Of course, if we have the room, you can stay with us...but this hotel seems like a great place as well. We'll let you know more about it when we get there. Less than 10 days left!
