¡Viva Granada!

We went to Nicaragua for our 72 hour tourist stamp renewal and fell in love! On the first day we took the ferry to Isla Ometepe. Ometepe is a pituresque island formed by 2 volcanoes rising; Volcan Concepcion and Volcan Maderas. We spent our first night at Hotel Centro in Altagracia, after hopping on a local bus and figuring we would end up wherever it went. Worked out great, Altagracia is a nice pueblo. Walked around a bit, drank some Tona.

The next day we headed to Bague and walked to Finca Magdalena, a working farm / coffee plantation at the foot of Volcan Maderas. A very chill place with hammocks you can sit in all day and stare at Lago Nicaragua and Volcan Concepcion.

Granada was our final destination. Checked out the street market, had some good eats, watched a fast pitch softball game for an inning. Really loved the old buildings and that it is a city rich with culture, not just a town taken over by tourism. A city that has been burned to the ground many times and keeps coming back must be something special! ¡Viva Granada!

Hey Brooke...The pictures are wonderful...I hope you both are being safe and having fun...well I'm back in school, taking classes at the local community college to get some pre-reqs done so I can apply to nursing school...which of course makes me think of you and our lovely Polish, Spanish teacher Mr Powl...something...and Dr Annunciate, the bio prof. Hope all is well.
